Why do I need a website?
A website is your 24/7 virtual salesperson. When you have a website it
exposes your business to the world with possible customers that have an
interest in your product. Your website can also be used to improve
credibility, show more information than you would have at your brick and
mortar. Websites increase creditability, sales, and clients.
Does the
website design firm need to be local?
No. With today's technology of email, phone and the internet, websites can
be successfully created and published, even when the design firm and client
are thousands of miles apart.
How
long does it take to have a website designed?
The time frame is determined by the size of your website, the complexity of
your site design, and our current client design schedule. We also work on
your deadlines if they are within reason of the complexity.
What is a
domain name and how do I get one?
A domain name is a specific website address that you choose and register
with a registrar. Domain names end in .com, .net, .org, .edu, .biz, .gov
and more. The Topping Company can register your domain name for you.
We also handle your billing, so you don't need to worry about 2-5 different
invoices from different companies.
How much does a website
cost?
Without knowing all of the needs or the complexity of your unique project,
it is very difficult to quote an accurate price. While costs can vary
widely, a good rule of thumb is to expect your website to cost from
$300-$500 per page. For specific pricing, please
contact us.
Do I own my
website once it's finished?
Yes. All payments must be made and paid in full before we release any
contents or backups of your site.
Can you write
the content for my website?
We can write your content, however you may not like the additional price
that comes with this. We have found that most companies have already created
most or all of their content for the website. Microsoft Word is the
preferred way to send content.
I'm not sure exactly what my new
site needs. What do I do?
We're happy to help you through this process. Start with looking at your
competitor's sites. Then, look at sites that appeal to you, whether or not
they are in direct competition with you. Simply look for color, font, and
how the navigation works. Take notes on your ideas, needs and preferences so
that you can share them with us.
Can I see my
site while it is under development?
Yes. The Topping Company posts your site during developmental stages on a
test site. We require you to review your site because your involvement and
approval is essential throughout the all stages of your site and ensures a
successful publishing.
Do I need website
maintenance?
Site maintenance means minor changes to your website. Minor changes is for
example request to change out a sentence or your address. This does not
include addition of new pages or major revisions, such as an entire page
revision or revisions that go past ½ hour. If your website will require at
least one change a month, a maintenance agreement may be more cost efficient
than an hourly rate.
What is a web host?
A web host provides you space on a server where your website will
be published for the internet. The Topping Company can set you up with
outstanding website hosting. Contact us for more
information on web hosting.
We want to hire you! What now?
The Topping Company has an approach
to ensure your comfort through the process of a project. We will send you
all of the necessary documents needed to start your project. Once the
documents are back in our office with your initial payment, we get to work.
